Workspace for Selection Tool

What is Selection Tool?

The selection tools allow us to select a portion or an area of an image to work on.
Most of Photoshop's other tools, effects, and filters can then be applied to the selected area changing its color, shape, texture, position and other attributes, while leaving the rest of the image untouched.

In Adobe Photoshop, there are 3 types of Selection Tools:
1. The Marquee Tools
2. The Lasso Tools
3. The Magic Wand

This is the screen shot that showed the Selection Tools

Each type of selection tool has its own special attributes and settings, it will be up to us to select the best one for the job.

What is the function?

1. The Marquee Tools

The Marquee Tools are used to select a specific regularly shaped area.
The Marquee Tools include the Rectangular Marquees Tool, Elliptical Marquees Tool, Single Row Marquees Tool and Single Column Marquees Tool:

2. The Lasso Tools

The lasso tools are used to select an irregular area.
These tools include the Lasso Tool, Polygonal Lasso Tool and Magnetic Lasso Tool:

3. The Magic Wand
The Magic Wand  is used to select areas of an image based upon color.
These tools include the Magic Wand Tool and Quick Selection Tool:

Below showed the video that leading us how to use the Selection Tools:

Introduction to Adobe Photoshop

What I knew about Adobe Photoshop was more concentrate on editing, put some effects to look more advance on that picture.

Adobe Photoshop is a graphics based program created with images known as raster graphics. Other graphic applications, examples that Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw and Freehand, create vector graphics. Vector graphics are composed of solid lines, curves and other geometric shapes that are defined by a set of mathematical instructions. Vector images work best for type and other shapes that require clear crisp boundaries. Raster images work best with photographs. Raster graphics are comprised of a raster (a grid) of small squares called pixels. Objects in Photoshop are groups of many pixels – each of which can be a different color. Raster images require more memory and storage than vector images.

Photoshop is a memory-hungry program. This class will introduce you to the tool palette, basic commands, common menus, layers and how to make selections based on shape and color.

This is the screen shot that show Adobe Photoshop CS5 internal look.

I believe that I will learn more staff about Photoshop soon.
Enjoying and Having fun while learning Photoshop that I will be always remember on my mind and heart!

Who are you? Ban?

Hello, Welcome Back to Computer Graphics!

Who am I? I am not Spiderman!
For introduction myself to my Computer Graphics 2's works:
My name is Ban Teng Ruen, call me Ban if u can.

About myself to know the Photoshop, this is the year that I can learn Adobe Photoshop in my studies. Before entry the Faculty of Creative Multimedia in Multimedia University, I had try to use Photoshop to edit some picture to make it more advance in effects. But almost I used was just the basic of Photoshop.

So, that I hoped so long to learn about Photoshop, I will try my best to explore more about editing in Photoshop, make my Design to SIMPLE.
As I meant here was:
''Make it SIMPLE, But not SIMPLY''.
