Drum . Text

After done with my editing in Picture of Background, Chinese Art and Drumming Team


Now, I want to do the TEXT into the image, but but but...


Before I go for Text, i will make some other background for Text, what is that? Is a DRUM.

Open the Image that Selected

(I took the image myself)

Unlock it with Double Clicking the Layer

Next, I want to cut the surface of drum with using Quick mask

Select Quick Mask which is bottom of the Toolbox (Shortcut: Q)

Remember that you need to select the Brush tool (Shortcut: B) so that you can select the area that you want 

The area that you want is selected with Brush Tool

Next, click back Quick mask icon (Shortcut: Q)

Select > Inverse (Shortcut: Q)

So that we can delete or remove the outer layer that we selected

Add a Mask into the Layer of the Drum after you inversed the selection

Use Brush Tool again on the Vector Mask to rub the extra part of the Drum

**Use Black to Rub ; White to Re-Rub 

The Drum will showed above

Next, I want to make some Cloning on the surface of Drum so that the word above can be covered after cloning is did.

First, Duplicate the Layer 0 and renamed the layer as 'Clone' 

Select Clone Stamp Tool 

**Shortcut: S

Start cloning the word that on the surface of Drum with:

- Alt + Click to take the source of cloning

- Click to stamp clone from the source

After cloning, the Drum with look as above, Word is cloned over

Take the Drum into the Workspace that we did before for Drum Festival

Drag the Drum into the Workspace of 'In Progress'

Resize it with Free Transforms (Ctrl+T) 

Add some effects on the Drum with Layer Style & Blend Mode so that it look more standout.

Duplicate the layer (Ctrl+J) and renamed as 'Effects'

In Blend Mode, select Overlay so that it look deep color

The Drum will showed above

Double Click the Layer of 'Effects' to show the Layer Style

** Alternative Way: Layer > Layer Style 

Select Drop Shadow and make some Setting

(Make some shadowy)

Select Outer Glow and make some Setting

(To make some glowing outside the Drum)

The Drum will showed above again

Doesn't make more sense on the effects of Drum surface? Don't worry, Duplicate the same layer so that it makes double effects on the Drum

Duplicate the Layer of Effects and renamed as 'Effects adding + Dodge & Burn'

Delete the Layer Style with Dragging fx to the Delete icon

(This is because we need the Drum be more Darken 

but not the Shadow and Glowing behind the Drum)

Select Burn Tools / Dodge Tools (O)

In select area of the image, which is the part we need to do touch-up with 

Burn Tools / Dodge Tools

After touch-up, the Drum will showed

As usual, make a new Folder for Drum so that it will easy to find IF there is too much Layers

Select Folder and renamed as 'A Drum'

Drag the 3 Layers of Drums that we edited into the Folder of 'A Drum'

So, the Background of Text is done in the Workspace

Starting the Text of Drum

I will use the same method which is Masking on the image of Text.

Open the Image that Selected

Unlock it with Double Clicking the Layer

Select Quick Mask which is bottom of the Toolbox (Shortcut: Q)

Use Brush Tool to select the area that you want 

Next, click back Quick mask icon (Shortcut: Q)

Select > Inverse (Shortcut: Q)

So that we can delete or remove the outer layer that we selected

Add a Vector Mask into the Layer of the Drum after you inversed the selection

Use Brush Tool again on the Vector Mask to rub the extra part of the Drum

**Use Black to Rub ; White to Re-Rub 

The Drum showed same as above after retouching on it

Add some effects on the Drum with Layer Style so that it look more style and outstanding.

Double Click the Layer of 'Effects' to show the Layer Style 

Select Drop Shadow and make some Setting

(Make some shadowy)

Select Outer Glow and make some Setting

(Add some glowing outside the Chinese Word of Drum)

Select Color Overlay and make some Setting

(To make the color of the Word in total Black)

The Chinese Word of Drum

Doesn't make more sense on the effects? Don't worry, Duplicate the same layer so that it makes double effects on the Drum

Duplicate the Layer

Now, you can see the double effects of Glowing and Shadow is showed

Drag the Chinese Word of Drum into the Workspace of 'In Progress'

Drag 2 Layers (Layer 21 and Layer 21 copy) into the Workspace of 'In Progress'

Move it properly and place it above the Drum

(If necessary, use Free Transforms to Resize)

Again, make a new Folder for Chinese Word of Drum

Select Folder and renamed as 'Chinese Word of Drum'

Drag the 'Layer 21' and 'Layer 21 copy' into the

Folder of 'Chinese Word of Drum'

So, the FINAL of DRUM.TEXT is done!
